Ishtar is the goddess of extremes. She seems to contradict herself in her existence in every possible way. She is the goddess of love, and at the same time of warfare. She is immortal, and yet she experiences death. She tries to tempt Gilgamesh into being with her, which would ultimately cause his downfall, yet she sacrifices herself to death for well being of mortals. However, although these things seem to contradict each other, they are connected. She is the goddess of love. Perhaps it is because of this, and her ultimate beauty, that causes men to go to war with each other over her. Although she is an immortal goddess, she tries to experience death as a sacrifice for the mortals, just like some people believe Jesus died for our sins. But Ishtar and Jesus are probably ONLY alike in this way. She was an immortal goddess, he the son of god. She is like most polytheistic gods, with faults, irrational feelings, etc. Jesus was a prophet who showed others the true way to heaven. You could, on the other hand, compare Ishtar with the Taoist belief of yin and yang. Yinand yang are complete opposites that balance each other. If they are unbalance the world would crumble. Ishtar is like yin and yang collective in one being. The contradictory aspects of her balance each other, making her neutral. Some may however, interpret this not as neutrality, but rather as unpredictable. For even though all her actions in their meaning cancel each other out, they still happen, and still affect others.

What People (Might) want to know...
Well, i dont think there are that many things that everybody perchance would want to hear about, or at least get of their way to search for it. I'm a Zenit fan. For those of you who don't know, Zenit is the St. Petersburg football (soccer) team. I'm happy to announce that Zenit beat Manchester United in the UEFA super-cup by a score of 2-1. Woot. I also would like everyone to know that bubble tea is supposed to be really good. Its cold, fruit-flavered tea with frizzy bubbles at the top and tapioca mini-spheres floating at the bottom. It's supposed to be really delicious. I want to try it sometime. Theyre going to give people it at the Asian American Culture club. I think I might join that...

1st Day Poem
An alarm clock is ringing
On this bright sunny day
There are birds who are singing
Maybe the too, have something to say
He wakes up groggy
But he soon begins to show
How excited he was
And his day starts to flow
I got myself ready
On this wonderful day
I embarked on my bicycle
So far everything is OK
I look for my shuttle
But it isn't there
I nearly got lost
I started pulling my hair
But I soon find my way
Right there in the street
Is a yellow school bus
I'm anxious to know what I'll soon meet
I reached Glenbrook South
Where my first class began
The Academy was swell
I'm happy to tell
But on the way back
My shuttle is late
I have to stand in the heat
So is my fate
When I return I have Phys Ed
And right after I ate
With some of my friends
The food we all differently rate
Last but not least
I have my elective for the day
I start to learn about photography
Yet I have still more to say
I've met some new friends
And with old ones united
With even, maybe, one minor drawback
My first day was great even in spite of it...
